Another Fiji First: As we went to the bus station to pick two sisters up from for transfers, I saw several men bring wheelbarrows to get the luggage out of the cargo compartments. As I rounded the bus, I heard a big pig screaming bloody murder. They were pulling him out of his cargo hold and were trying to put him into a wheelbarrow. After they got him subdued, Rex got a picture.  Later we heard more of the story from the Elders. The pig had ridden with them on the boat from Taveuni to Buca Bay where he was stuffed into the first cargo compartment of a bus going to Savusavu. There he switched buses to come to Labasa. He is undoubtedly going to be the main guest at someone’s feast.
Notice the red twine around his neck & feet. This is what it means to be "Hog Tied."
